We created our Canine Bed Bug division in 2011 with two trained bed bug-sniffing dogs. Since then we’ve added six more teams. Our eight active canine teams have been trained using the same methodology and regimen as dogs trained to detect bombs, drugs, and termites. Our handlers and dogs are trained and certified as a team. Each team is required to pass an annual test in order to maintain certification. Our dogs are trained to detect live bed bugs and can detect bed bug eggs the size of a grain of salt.
Our canine inspections have proven invaluable in the detection of bed bugs.
